Hi, I’m Shannen, and I run Fernweh Travel.
I started Fernweh because I believe travel should be more than ticking boxes or chasing deals. A good trip can be calming, exciting, eye-opening – even life-changing. Whether it’s a long-overdue break or something you’ve always dreamed of, I want to help you find experiences that matter and that stay with you.
Travel has always played a big role in my life.
I studied tourism and film production, and I’m currently studying psychology – I’ve always been curious about people, stories, and what makes life meaningful.
That same curiosity shapes how I plan travel. I want to understand what makes a trip right for you.
I live in Ireland with my husband Jonas (he’s German – so our house is usually a mix of tea and Apfelkuchen). I also use a wheelchair, so I know firsthand how important it is for travel to be genuinely accessible and thoughtfully planned. That’s something I carry into every trip I help organise.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all packages. I take the time to listen, understand what matters to you, and help shape something that fits your needs, your preferences, and your pace.
